Terms of Service

What you get when you subscribe to TechWalk, what it costs, how it renews, how to stop it, and the limits of what audio courses and AI-generated practice questions can promise.

Effective 31 July 2026 · TechWalk — LEGAL ENTITY NAME TBC

1. Who we are

TechWalk is operated by TechWalk — LEGAL ENTITY NAME TBC, registered office REGISTERED ADDRESS TBC (company number COMPANY NUMBER TBC, VAT number VAT NUMBER TBC). In these terms "we", "us" and "TechWalk" mean that company, and "you" means the person who subscribes to or uses the service.

You can reach a human at support@techwalk.io. That is also the address for billing questions, data requests, account deletion and reporting a problem with a practice question.

2. The agreement

These terms form a contract between you and us. You accept them when you tick the agreement box at checkout, and again each time you sign in. Two other documents form part of the same agreement and should be read alongside this one:

TechWalk is a consumer service. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be removed by contract.

3. Your account

There is no public sign-up. An account is created for you when a subscription payment succeeds, or by us directly for team seats we have agreed by email. You must be at least 18 and give a working email address you control.

Sign-in is passwordless. The welcome email carries a single-use activation link valid for 7 days; after that, and on every later sign-in, we email an 8-digit code that expires 10 minutes after it is requested. Anyone with access to your inbox can therefore sign in as you — keep it secure, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has access.

An account is personal to one learner. Sharing your account, your sign-in codes or your activation link with other people is a breach of these terms. Team access is a separate arrangement — email us and we will invoice your employer and set up a seat per person.

4. Subscription, prices and auto-renewal

TechWalk is a recurring subscription. You choose monthly or yearly at checkout, we charge the first payment immediately, and the same amount is charged automatically at the start of every following period until you cancel. Payments are taken by Stripe from the card you gave at checkout.

Individual · monthly$17.50 per month$35.00 per month
Individual · yearly$175.00 per year$350.00 per year

All prices are in US dollars and are exclusive of tax. Any VAT or sales tax that applies where you live is calculated by Stripe and added on top at checkout; the total you authorise is shown before you pay.

The founding price, and what "locked for life" means

While TechWalk is in beta we sell at the founding price. If you subscribe at that price, your subscription keeps renewing at that price for as long as it stays active — the increase to the standard launch price applies only to subscriptions started after we switch. It is not a promise that the price can never change for anyone: it is a promise that we will not move your existing subscription onto a higher price.

If you cancel and later subscribe again, the new subscription is priced at whatever the current price is. Switching between monthly and yearly is also a new subscription at the then-current price for that cadence — the self-service portal cannot change your plan, so email us and we will arrange it.

If a payment fails

Stripe retries a failed renewal on its normal schedule and emails you. While a payment is outstanding your subscription shows as past due and access may be suspended. If the retries are exhausted the subscription is cancelled and access ends. Updating your card in the billing portal is enough to recover it.

5. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time, without giving a reason, from Account → Billing → Manage subscription, which opens the Stripe customer portal. You can also email us and we will cancel it for you.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. It is not pro-rated and there is no partial refund for the remainder of that period. You keep full access until the period ends, nothing further is charged, and the subscription then stops. The Refund & Cancellation Policy sets this out in full, including the circumstances in which we do refund.

We may suspend or end your subscription if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we stop offering the service. Where we end it for a reason that is not your breach, we refund the unused part of the period you paid for.

6. Your 14-day right of withdrawal

As a consumer in the EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. Because TechWalk is digital content supplied immediately, by subscribing you expressly request that we begin supplying it during the withdrawal period, and you acknowledge that once we have fully supplied it you lose the right to withdraw.

In practice we do not rely on that clause to keep your money. Because that request is made inside these terms rather than as a separate confirmation at checkout, we treat you as keeping the withdrawal right and we will refund a first subscription payment in full if you ask within 14 days. The Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how to ask and what happens next.

7. Licence to use the content

The courses, summaries, curriculum, quizzes, practice questions, explanations and the underlying learning-point catalogue are ours (or our licensors') and are protected by copyright. While your subscription is active we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to stream and use them for your own study.

You may not:

  • download, record, capture, re-host or redistribute the audio, or circumvent the signed-URL protection that serves it
  • copy questions, answers or explanations out of the product, in whole or in bulk, including by automated scraping
  • share your account or let anyone else use it
  • use the content to build, train or evaluate a competing product or a machine-learning model
  • resell, sublicense or publicly perform the content

Audio is streamed. There is no offline download in the beta, and the temporary access credentials your browser holds are for playback on your own devices only. The licence ends when your subscription ends.

"AWS", "Amazon Web Services" and the certification names are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. TechWalk is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by Amazon Web Services.

8. AI-generated questions and accuracy

Quiz Master draws practice questions from a bank we author and review. When you have already answered every reviewed question for a learning point, the next question is generated on demand by a large language model and shown to you before a human has reviewed it. It is stored as pending review, and we remove or correct questions that turn out to be wrong.

That means a generated question, one of its options, or its explanation may be inaccurate, out of date, or not representative of the real exam. We check what the model returns for shape (four options, exactly one correct) — not for truth.

TechWalk is a study aid, not certification training, an exam simulator, or professional advice. AWS services and exam blueprints change. Always confirm anything that matters against current AWS documentation and the official exam guide. We do not guarantee that you will pass any exam.

If a question looks wrong, tell us — there is a report link on every question in a Quiz Master session, or email support@techwalk.io. Reports are how bad generated questions get found.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • attempt to gain access to accounts, data or systems that are not yours
  • probe, scan or overload the service, or interfere with anyone else's use of it
  • use automated tools to bulk-request questions, audio or any other content
  • impersonate anyone or misrepresent your connection to a person or organisation
  • use TechWalk for anything unlawful, or in breach of the AWS certification programme's own rules

10. Beta service and availability

TechWalk is an early-access beta. The catalogue is limited — today it is the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02) course, its summary track, its quiz and Quiz Master. Features are added, changed and occasionally removed while we build. Where we describe a course as coming soon, that is an intention and not a commitment to a date.

We aim to keep the service available but we do not promise uninterrupted access. Maintenance, third-party outages and faults will happen. If a fault leaves the service substantially unusable for an extended period, contact us and we will put it right — by fixing it, by extending your period, or by refunding it.

11. Deleting your account

There is no self-service delete button. Deletion spans your sign-in identity, your learning data and your live payment subscription, and it cannot be undone — so we handle it as an audited manual process rather than a one-click control that might fire by accident or be triggered by someone who is not you.

Email support@techwalk.io from the address on the account. We confirm the request with you, cancel any live subscription, and erase your account and learning data within 30 days. The Privacy Policy describes what is deleted and what we are obliged to keep.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you — including your statutory rights as a consumer to a service supplied with reasonable care and skill.

Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you subscribed, for lost profits, lost opportunity or exam fees, or for the outcome of any certification exam. Where we are liable, our total liability to you for all claims arising in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in that period.

We provide the service with reasonable care and skill, but we do not warrant that the content is complete, error-free or sufficient on its own to pass an exam. See section 8 for the specific position on AI-generated questions.

13. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms — for example when we add a feature, change how billing works, or have to reflect a change in the law. If a change materially affects your rights or what you pay, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use TechWalk after that date means you accept the change; if you do not accept it, cancel before it takes effect and you will not be charged again.

A price increase never applies to an existing founding-price subscription — see section 4.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in another EU member state, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you may also bring proceedings in the courts there.

If something goes wrong, please email us first — nearly everything is resolved that way. If it is not, you can also refer a consumer dispute to the alternative dispute resolution or consumer protection body in the country you live in.
